Get ready for A LOT of Sansa Stark in ‘Game of Thrones’ season six. The starlet dished about the all-new season and assured fans that the upcoming season is a ‘big one’ for Sansa. Spoilers ahead!
Let’s be honest: Sansa Stark hasn’t had the easiest time on Game of Thrones. From losing her father to marrying Ramsay against her will, luck has never really been on her side. However, Sophie Turner, 19, revealed in a new interview that Sansa’s luck is about to change. She teased that this will be Sansa’s “best season yet,” and she’s finally getting some respect!
“I mean this season is a really, really big one for Sansa,” Sophie revealed at EW’s SAG Awards party on Jan. 29. “It’s probably her best season yet. It’s her really coming into her own. She, this season, really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it’s really good.”
It’s about time! Over the course of the past five seasons, Sansa has grown so much and really proven her strength. She’s held her own in the midst of mayhem and managed to stay alive. In the season 5 finale, Sansa leapt off the walls of Winterfell with Theon, escaping Ramsay’s clutches.
Sophie also noted that fans are “finally getting that storyline that you’ve been craving for the past five seasons. It was amazing because the past five seasons, it feels like it’s been building up and up to that. You can only suffer so much before she finally gets her, the respect that she deserves.”
Season six will be quite a change for Game of Thrones fans. It’s the first season that’s not following one of George R.R. Martin’s books. Yep, he’s STILL not finished with Winds of Winter. Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys, teased that this season will be “epic.”
“Legitimately, this season almost killed us,” Emilia revealed to E! News at the SAG Awards. “Like, it is epic. Like, it’s huge. It’s insane. It’s silly.” [Source]
