I added the first promotional photos of Sophie Turner from Game of Thrones Season 6. What do you think? Are you escited with the new season?
Get ready for A LOT of Sansa Stark in ‘Game of Thrones’ season six. The starlet dished about the all-new season and assured fans that the upcoming season is a ‘big one’ for Sansa. Spoilers ahead!
Let’s be honest: Sansa Stark hasn’t had the easiest time on Game of Thrones. From losing her father to marrying Ramsay against her will, luck has never really been on her side. However, Sophie Turner, 19, revealed in a new interview that Sansa’s luck is about to change. She teased that this will be Sansa’s “best season yet,” and she’s finally getting some respect!
“I mean this season is a really, really big one for Sansa,” Sophie revealed at EW’s SAG Awards party on Jan. 29. “It’s probably her best season yet. It’s her really coming into her own. She, this season, really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it’s really good.”
It’s about time! Over the course of the past five seasons, Sansa has grown so much and really proven her strength. She’s held her own in the midst of mayhem and managed to stay alive. In the season 5 finale, Sansa leapt off the walls of Winterfell with Theon, escaping Ramsay’s clutches.
Sophie also noted that fans are “finally getting that storyline that you’ve been craving for the past five seasons. It was amazing because the past five seasons, it feels like it’s been building up and up to that. You can only suffer so much before she finally gets her, the respect that she deserves.”
Season six will be quite a change for Game of Thrones fans. It’s the first season that’s not following one of George R.R. Martin’s books. Yep, he’s STILL not finished with Winds of Winter. Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys, teased that this season will be “epic.”
“Legitimately, this season almost killed us,” Emilia revealed to E! News at the SAG Awards. “Like, it is epic. Like, it’s huge. It’s insane. It’s silly.” [Source]
Leaked pictures from Ireland show a brand new set being built for “Game of Thrones” Season 6. Cast member Sophie Turner is said to have been spotted at the same filming location of the show, which may be the set for Winterfell.
A set of pictures posted on Belfast Live shows a new set for the show being built at the County Antrim village of Moneyglass in Northern Ireland. It is still unclear what the set will be used for in the show, but the report speculates the set may be a barracks or maybe a part of Winterfell.
The report also notes cast member Kit Harington, who played Jon Snow, has been spotted multiple times in Belfast and was most recently seen in Banbridge, Ireland. Fans have been speculating the actor may be back in the next Season of the show.
Another cast member reportedly spotted near Moneyglass is Turner, who plays Sansa Stark. WatchersOnTheWall said some fans reported seeing the actress at the location. The report notes the set built in the area last year was used to film scenes of Winterfell, and if Turner is filming her scenes at the location, it would suggest the set will once again be used to show the castle of House Stark in “Game of Thrones” Season 6.
Meanwhile, HBO announced in a tweet the complete Season 5 Digital HD will be released Aug. 31, and the Blu-ray and DVD sets will be released by March 15. The bonus content for the Digital HD version includes an introduction to the fantasy realm of Dorne, details about the weapons created for the show, some of the characters of Dorne, a look at the poisons in Westeros and a day in the life of cast members on the set.
Commenting on the post, some fans expressed disappointment about having to wait so long for the release of the DVD. The premiere episode of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 is expected to air in April 2016. [Source]
