We may have to wait until April 14 for the debut of the final season of HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” but Wednesday, HBO released photos from the final season. First photo of Sophie is online, you can go to the gallery to take a look.
We have a feeling Sophie Turner might be on a mission to slowly but surely break our hearts into teeny tiny pieces at the moment.
If it’s not her confirmation that season eight of Game of Thrones won’t air until 2019, it’s the actress’ recent revelation of what exactly happened when the show’s famous cast and crew joined together for the final read-through of the hit series.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the star – who plays Sansa Stark in GOT – revealed: ‘At the end of the very last script, they read aloud, “End of Game of Thrones”.’
‘As soon as they read that out, pretty much everyone burst into tears,’ she explained.
‘There was a standing ovation for [showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss]. We were all clapping and cheering. It was amazing.’
Describing the moment as a ‘shock to the system’, the newly-engaged Brit said: ‘We actually realised, reading that “end of Game of Thrones line” [at the end of the table read], that that was it. When you’re in it, you don’t really see an end point.
‘It’s just an ongoing thing you’re living with. It was a real shock. It was really sad, but there was an immense amount of pride, too.’
Turner’s description of the final cast reading mirrors that of her co-star and onscreen brother Kit Harington’s reaction to the end of the series.
In an appearance on The One Show earlier this year, the 30-year-old – who was recently spotted selling pine trees in Scotland – admitted he was reduced to tears.
‘We had the read-through last week, in fact, so I know everything now,’ he said.
‘I cried at the end! It wasn’t anything particular that happens. You have to remember, I’ve done eight years of it. I think, no-one really cares about it more than us.’ Continue reading »
After a few months of speculation, HBO has confirmed it: Season 8 of Game of Thrones will be the series’ final season.
Casey Bloys, HBO’s new programming president, confirmed it Saturday at the Television Critics Association summer tour to members of the press. Speaking with the press, Bloys revealed it has been the plan for a while:
“Yes, I think [the showrunners, D.B. Weiss and David Benioff] have a very specific plan about the number of seasons they want to do. If I could get them to do more, I would take 10 seasons but we want to take their lead with what they could do and what the best version of the show is.”
However, Bloys left the door open about the possibility of a potential spinoff when the question was raised:
“We’ve talked about it. It’s not something I’m opposed to but it has to make sense creatively. I’m not sure the guys can wrap their heads around it when they are about to start production. We’re open to it; the guys aren’t opposed to it but there’s no concrete plans right now.”
I just added some captures of Sophie from Episode 1 of the new season of GOT. Did you watch the episode?

“Are you afraid? You should be. You’re in the great game now.”
A new “March Madness” teaser for Game of Thrones season six includes new footage and dire warnings.
“Are you afraid?” asks Tyrion Lannister in the new promo. “You should be. You’re in the great game now, and the great game is terrifying.”
The teaser catches up with Daenerys, who is being led into Vaes Dothrak, and includes a brief glimpse of Ramsey Bolton before showing Sansa on the run with Theon Greyjoy after their daring escape.
Turning its attention to King’s Landing, the rest of the Lannisters are seen while the High Sparrow narrates: “We are sinful creatures. We deserve death. We all do.”
Jaqen H’ghar ends the teaser with an ominous note to Arya: “One way or another, the gift will be given. One way or another, a face will be added to the hole.” [Source]
