Richard Madden and Kit Harington said the guys in the cast text each other to share theories and geek out. Do the girls get in on that action?
We’re all really close. We constantly Skype. And I was just having a conversation with Emilia [Clarke, who plays Daenerys] about all this, because I have all these theories about who Jon Snow’s mother and father really are. I think that his mother is Lyanna Stark, Ned’s sister, and I think his father is not Ned, but that Ned just took him on, that his father was actually Rhaegar Targaryen. The Targaryens had a lot of incestuous relationships, to keep the bloodline pure, so this wouldn’t be out of bounds for them, but I want Jon Snow and Dany to get together! I would love for Jon Snow and Dany to end up on the Iron Throne together. That’s just if I’m watching it, and not in it, because of course I would love to see Sansa on the Iron Throne, too — and I don’t want anything incestuous for Sansa! [Laughs.] I love her, because I’m very biased towards my character, but Arya is my favorite. I think the women are the ones with the real strength in the series, the mental strength, and you can see this divide clearly in the books — that the women are going to come to power. Although Sansa is in a very complicated position right now, in a state of domestic abuse.

“It was really cool scene to film, but oh, it was horrible at the same time because I can’t sing… But, I did feel very empowered doing it,” Sophie told AccessHollywood.com of the moment Sansa finally found her voice and showed her mettle, before leading the women in a hymn.
For the teenage Brit, her current fears aren’t about singing, but school exams. Yet, with just days until the show’s Season 2 finale, Sophie put the books down to discuss the “Blackwater” episode with Access, the fans’ interest in “SanSan” (Sansa and Sandor Clegane), and what lies ahead for her redheaded character.
Access: One of the things that was so sweet this season was Sandor… his affection for, and protection of Sansa. Will anything continue or is he out the door at the end of 9?
Sophie: I don’t think you see much after Episode 9 of Sandor until next season, but hopefully there will be a development yet again in Sansa and Sandor’s relationship. I love their relationship, I think it’s a very complicated one, but I think it’s very beautiful, in a way, because Sandor’s been through so much and he’s been at the hands of bullying from his older brother, and he’s seeing this happen to Sansa, who is very vulnerable, not in terms of mental ability, but in terms of physicality.
Screen captures of Sophie in Game of Thrones 2.9 are in the gallery! She did such a great job this week and I think it was her biggest role in a single episode yet. I love her scenes with Lena Headey!

How does Sansa cope, being all alone? Where is she getting her strength, and what is she doing to make it bearable?
Sophie Turner: I think she gets strength from thinking how her mother and father would cope. She also thinks of her sister Arya because Arya is so strong, and she would usually fight back. We never really saw it last season, but we’re seeing it now. There’s that horrifying scene where Joffrey is pointing a crossbow at Sansa. What was that scene like? Was it tense to do?
Turner: It was quite intense. But I really, really enjoyed it. Jack was so lovely, and Peter [Dinklage] was so lovely. Everyone was lovely on set. So it was kind of easy. But when the cameras start rolling, it has a very tense atmosphere about it.We have heard how completely opposite that Jack is from his character, Joffrey.
Turner: Yes. He’s one of the most lovely people I’ve ever met, and I can’t stress it enough to the fans of the show because I’m scared people are going to come up to him and say horrible things to him. They shouldn’t because he’s lovely.
